Forget about your electric bill. FOREVER!
With NEM 3.0 changes coming in April, the time to GO SOLAR is now!
It's rare that I pitch something in our newsletter. It can be a little uncouth.
And yet, I'm going to share some information with you that is both a pitch and more importantly a value-add, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars in your pocket - REALLY.
Here goes:
Solar Savings in California Are About to Drop. ⬇️
A new California policy - Net Energy Metering (NEM) 3.0 - is set to slash solar credits next month.
NEM credits homeowners for the extra electricity they send back to the grid from their solar systems, BUT new changes to the program are set to lower those credits - and overall solar savings - starting April 15th, 2023.
For those who sign up by April 14th, you can lock in high energy savings for $0 down, for 20 years and take advantage of the new 30% solar tax credit, paying for nearly 1/3 the cost of your solar system.
With solar efficiency at an all time high, combined with the best federal solar tax credit ever offered, the timing is great.
Electricity costs are rising (up arrow icon) across the country and utility companies charge more during peak hours, when they know you need electricity most. Yet, if you produce your own solar energy, those peak-pricing tiers become a thing of the past.
And much like a 30 year mortgage, when you go solar, you lock in the cost of your electricity over the lifetime of the system. So while the cost of electricity goes up approximately 5% per year, meaning it doubles roughly every 20 years, the cost savings 5-10 years from now could be in the tens of thousands of dollars, depending on your usage. Not to mention you'd be helping the planet and future generations with climate change.
I've sold many homes with solar and on average they sell faster and for a premium (4% on average) over homes without solar. The remaining cost of the system is paid out through close of escrow, in most cases.
For owners who sign solar contracts by April 14, 2023, you will be grandfathered into the previous net metering policy for the next 20 years.
If you're interested in going solar, it's best to ACT NOW before solar savings in California drop.
